Government closes doors, stalls services
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are bringing closures of government agencies throughout the area.
In Newport Beach, City Hall closes at noon today.
It will stay closed throughout New Year’s Day and into the weekend, finally reopening Monday morning.
Costa Mesa’s City Hall will be closed only Thursday.
Post offices will be closed Thursday, and some will close early today.
In Newport Beach, street sweeping will be canceled Thursday. Trash collection will not take place that day either, and Thursday and Friday collections will be pushed back to the next day.
