Water district to seek resident input, offer tours

In two weeks the Mesa Consolidated Water District, which provides water for all of Costa Mesa and portions of Newport Beach, is reconvening a program called the Water Issues Study Group for residents in the hopes of getting them involved in the decision-making process.

California is in the middle of a drought and water prices have skyrocketed in the last few years.

The district is offering the public tours of their facilities and inviting guest speakers from regional agencies and experts to talk about how Costa Mesa plans to move forward in the future. Board members will also be present to take input from the participants.

About 25 to 30 people attend each year. The meetings will take place once a month for six months at the district’s office at 1965 Placentia Ave. They will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every third Tuesday, starting Jan. 20.

For more information or to register for the free program, call (949) 631-1205.
