YOUTH SCENE:
The South Huntington Beach Girls Under-8 travel soccer team (AYSO Region 56) had its bid for an undefeated tournament run halted Saturday in the championship game of the Mayor’s Cup in Long Beach.
The local team fell, 2-0, to Cypress in the division final at Hartwell Park in Long Beach.
The U-8 team is: Lindsay Fisser, Abby Whitlock, Julia Mailman, Malia Walencewicz, Amber Duren, Lily Elisha, Summer Nunez, Jackie Ruggiero, Angel Cervantez and Avery Wallendorf.
? Under-10 Silver All-Stars
The South Huntington Beach girls’ U-10 All-Star finished runner-up to Westchester at the Costa Mesa Classic Sunday.
The locals fell in the division title game, 2-0.
The U-10 Silver All-Star team is: Jessica Ruggiero, Lauren Castelblanco, Kendall Fearnley, Deanna Ochi, Megan Choi, Madison Crowley, Brielle DiLiberto, Kyra Casey and Gianna DiLiberto.
