WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Vanguard 96, Cal Baptist 62

COSTA MESA — The No. 2-ranked Lions made 14 of 33 three-point attempts, including four each by Diana Neves and Jaclyn Blied, to blow out the visiting Lancers in a Golden State Athletic Conference game Tuesday.

Neves was four of six from threedom on her way to 14 points, while senior Lauren Gregory had 22 points and eight rebounds for the winners (17-2, 10-0 in conference).

Sophomore Molly Pfohl had 10 points and 11 rebounds and shared the team lead with three assists, while Blied (14) and Rachel Copeland (11) also scored in double figures for Vanguard.

Cal Baptist (12-8, 4-6) made just three of 19 three-point tries (15.8%).

COSTA MESA — Senior forward Brandon Glenn finished with 15 points and nine rebounds in the Lions’ Golden State Athletic Conference game Tuesday night.

Sophomore Alex Chapman had 13 points and six rebounds for Vanguard (4-14, 3-7 in conference). Elvis Whitelow finished with nine points and seven rebounds for the Lions.

Cal Baptist improved to 15-4, 6-4.
