CORONA DEL MAR — Juniors Ashleigh Smith, Hayley Raguse and Lauren Smits each scored goals Tuesday, helping the Sea Kings clinch at least second place in the Pacific Coast League.

Corona del Mar (8-3-6, 3-1 in league) has four league matches left.

Goalkeeper Lindsey Luke made four saves in the first half and keeper Sarah Cox recorded five saves in the second half in the combined shutout.

The Sea Kings play host to first-place University next Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

NEWPORT COAST — Maddie Culberson scored for the Lightning in their nonleague game Tuesday.

It was Culberson’s seventh goal of the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Alexie Thomas, making her first start of the season, recorded 14 saves for Sage Hill (5-9-1).

The Lightning return to Academy League action at Brethren Christian today.

CORONA DEL MAR — Sophomore Kayla Marolt scored 10 points to lead the Sea Kings in their Pacific Coast League game Tuesday

Corona del Mar fell to 17-6, 2-3 in league after losing to the visiting Hawks, ranked No. 8 in CIF Southern Section Division II-A.

The Sea Kings play at Irvine Thursday at 7 p.m.
