Acting chancellor named

Trustees of the Coast Community College District have named an acting chancellor to fill in for Chancellor Ken Yglesias, who has been on paid leave since Jan. 7; the district is investigating unspecified allegations regarding him.

The acting chancellor will be Ding-Jo Currie, who is president of Coastline Community College.

The district named Currie to the position at its board meeting this week following a meeting in closed session.

Efforts to reach Currie for comment were unsuccessful.

District officials have not said the reason Yglesias was put on leave, but did hire two investigation firms at the same meeting.
