SAN LUIS OBISPO —Freshman right fielder Kris Martin went two for three with a double, an RBI and a run scored for the Pirates in their nonleague game Friday.

Freshman center fielder Gary Detwiler hit a home run and was one for three. Sophomore Sheeks, who had a double, and sophomore Ryan Dunn also had one hit each for OCC (2-1).

Cuesta improved to 2-2.

The Pirates play against Cuesta again today at noon.

Arizona Intercollegiate

Coach Paul Smolinski’s Anteaters resume action Monday and Tuesday at Arizona National Golf Club in Tucson.

The tournament features 36 holes Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.

Joining UCI and host Arizona in the field are BYU, California, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico, Pepperdine, San Diego State, Tennessee, Texas A&M;, Tulsa and UNLV.

UCI’s lineup is scheduled to be junior John Chin, senior Sean Shahi, sophomore Bryan Harris, and freshmen Michael Im and Roberto Francioni.

Chin led the Anteaters with a 70.58 in four fall tournaments with two top-10 finishes. Shahi had a 71.58 average, Harris 72.0, Francioni 72.17 and Im 72.25.
