SANTA ANA — Senior Ben Lefebvre scored 11 points and senior Kevin Astorino added 10 to help the Mustangs rally in the Orange Coast League road game Friday.

Costa Mesa (8-14, 3-3 in league) trailed by 10 in the third quarter and was down, 33-31, entering the fourth. But the Mustangs outscored the Grizzlies, 21-7, in the final quarter.

Senior Brian Waldron contributed nine points and junior Andrew Albers, who scored eight points, led the Mustangs with 10 rebounds.

Mesa plays at Calvary Chapel Wednesday in a league game at 5:30 p.m.

IRVINE — Senior Sean Donovan scored a game-high 23 for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Friday night at Irvine High.

Sophomore Danny Check added nine for CdM, which played without senior Steven Gallian (ankle). The Sea Kings (13-11, 5-2 in league) fell into second place in league behind University (6-1).

Coach Ryan Schachter said he hopes to have Gallian back when CdM plays host to Uni on Wednesday night.

Goalkeeper Kyle Evans made five saves for Newport Harbor (8-6-4, 2-3-2 in league).

The Sailors play host to Esperanza on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

IRVINE — The Sea Kings suffered their Pacific Coast League loss of the season Friday.

The Vaqueros scored 20 minutes into the second half to send CdM to 7-6-4, 3-1-2 in league.

NEWPORT COAST — Isa-Maria Taskinen, Megan Kim, Jackie Dion and Megan Culberson scored goals for the Lightning in their Academy League game Friday.

Sage Hill improved to 7-9-1, 4-1 in league. The Lightning will play host to St. Margaret’s Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.
