Four-year-old tabby cat Cricket was about the size of a mouse when he was rescued, according to his caretakers.

But Cricket’s on the mend and his only issue for anyone who adopts him is to keep his inflammation of the gums under control with a daily oral rinse, according to DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, founder of the Community Animal Network.

The organization will offer Cricket and other pets for adoption from noon to 4 p.m. at Fashion island. For details, go to animalnetwork.org.
