Youngest ‘Schindler’s List’ survivor to speak

Holocaust victim Leon Leyson, the youngest survivor of “Schindler’s List,” will speak about his experiences inside Oscar Schindler’s enamelware factory, where he and 1,200 other Jews were kept safe from the SS, at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Huntington Beach Public Library Theater, 7111 Talbert Ave. Tickets are $18.

The Polish-born man was sent to the Krakow ghetto in 1939, when he was only 10. Three years later, he was taken by his father to work at Schindler’s factory, where he caught the eye of the factory owner and was treated to many kindnesses from him. Although his older brothers didn’t survive the war, Leyson, his parents and other family members lived to tell the tale.
