Senator joins environmental task force

Sen. Tom Harman has joined the Republican Task Force on the Environment, Energy and the Economy, the lawmaker announced Wednesday.

“California’s job creation does not have to be at odds with pro-environment policies,” Harman said in a written statement. “We can be leaders in cutting-edge clean technology just as we have been leaders in other innovative industries.”

The task force is made up of 20 Republican Assembly members and two senators. The group aims to use the free markets to spur innovation and bring jobs to the state.
