IRVINE — Jordan DuFault had 15 kills and 12 digs to help the No. 3-ranked Anteaters win the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match, 30-28, 27-30, 30-32, 31-29, 15-12 at Bren Events Center Wednesday.

Jon Steller and Kevin Wynne added 14 kills each, while Taylor Wilson had 13 kills for UCI (11-2, 7-1 in the MPSF) against the No. 13-ranked Gauchos.

SANTA BARBARA — Sophomore outside hitter Jake Melone finished with 11 kills and two service aces in the Pirates’ 30-28, 30-25, 30-23 nonconference victory Wednesday night.

Sophomore Cullan Maher had 10 kills and had a .800 hitting percentage.

OCC (2-2) plays tonight at Moorpark at 6.

COSTA MESA — Ryan Sheeks, Brett Wallach and Beck Wheeler had two hits each for the Pirates in their nonconference game Wednesday.

Alonzo Torres, Sheeks, Drew Hillman and Wallach produced one RBI each in the fourth inning for OCC (3-4).

LA MIRADA — Vanguard leads, 6-5, heading into the bottom of the ninth inning in a Golden State Athletic Conference game against Biola that was called due to darkness Wednesday.

The game will be continued at the point it was suspended when the teams meet again at Biola on March 26. Junior Michael Anderson helped the Lions tie the game, 5-5, with a sacrifice fly and produced the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning with another sacrifice fly.
