POLICE FILES: High school building flooded, burglarized

A teacher called police at 12:06 p.m. Sunday to report that someone broke a window and entered the assistant principal’s office at a private secondary school on the 21100 block of Strathmoor Lane over the weekend. The suspect drilled a hole into a safe in the office and stole several gift certificates, then plugged up the sink in the teacher’s lounge and turned on the water, creating extensive water damage when the water flooded the entire building.

Coral Cay Lane: A resident spotted a Duffy boat with its inside lights off, driving back and forth through the lagoon, on the 16800 block at 2:22 a.m. Sunday.

Springdale Street: A business was found to be burglarized, and a cash register with about $1,500 in it was stolen, on the 15900 block at 7:07 a.m. Sunday.

Baffin Circle: A caller said someone they knew broke the window of his sister’s vehicle on the 15400 block at 7:19 a.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard: A business was broken into on the 16800 block at 8:26 a.m. Sunday.

Sligo Circle: Someone reported a case of identity theft on the 6300 block at 1:54 p.m. Sunday.

Edinger Avenue: A suspect was detained for shoplifting a $99 black leather jacket at a business on the 7700 block at 4:28 p.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard: A business said someone put on eight clothing items in a dressing room and left the store with them the day before on the 16200 block at 5:09 p.m. Sunday.

Edinger Avenue: People were detained after appearing to steal things from a store and then running away on the 7700 block at 7:24 p.m. Sunday.

Edinger Avenue: A woman said her purse was stolen at a pet store on the 7600 block at 7:41 p.m. Sunday.

Bolsa Chica Street: A caller’s rear vehicle window was smashed while they were shopping in a store on the 16600 block at 8:28 a.m. Saturday.

Demion Lane: A man said he saw two teenage boys trying door handles on the 18700 block at 1:08 a.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard: An employee discovered that someone entered a business through the ceiling skylight but didn’t take anything on the 17800 block at 10:27 a.m. Sunday. A second business on the block was found to have been entered through the skylights at 10:50 a.m.

Modale Drive at Lister Lane: A pool enclosure in a condominium complex was found to be vandalized at 11:47 a.m. Sunday.

Warner Avenue: A business owner reported that a frequent customer distracted a cashier at their business and stole $137 in lottery tickets on the 7300 block at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Windy Sea Circle: A residence was found to be badly damaged following an eviction on the 8000 block at 3:36 p.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard: A man who had his hair cut by an employee at a salon has been stalking them, calling several times a day and asking other employees about them, on the 18500 block at 3:43 p.m. Sunday.

Carnaby Lane: Someone said their Sam’s Club card was used fraudulently on the 18400 block at 5:55 p.m. Sunday.

Warner Avenue: Two males were detained for stealing pallets from a home improvement store on the 7100 block at 5:47 a.m. Saturday. They said they would not return.

Wichita Avenue: A man requested police assistance when his roommate changed the locks at their residence on the 200 block at 2:56 a.m. Sunday.

Adams Avenue: A false $10 bill was found to be used at a business on the 200 block at 12:47 p.m. Sunday.

Main Street: A man was detained for shoplifting clothing on the 400 block at 4:19 p.m. Sunday.

Atlanta Avenue at Delaware Street: A man with a shaved head who was standing in front of an apartment complex flashed a knife and stole a girl’s purse at 12:44 a.m. Saturday.

Main Street at Promenade Parkway: A drunken man who refused to pay his cab fare was detained by police until he paid it at 1:01 a.m. Saturday.

Pacific Coast Highway: People were seen throwing beer bottles off their balcony and into a pool at a resort on the 21100 block at 1:36 a.m. Saturday.

Ninth Street: A burglary was discovered at a vacation home, with items including five flat-screen televisions, a computer and bicycle stolen, on the 100 block at 9:35 a.m. Saturday.

Yorktown Avenue: A man said three male juveniles were trying to break into his car on the 9800 block at 12:47 a.m. Sunday. When the juveniles ran away, the man said he didn’t want police assistance or contact.

Carmania Lane: Someone said they saw a woman screaming and attempting to climb through a window to get her possessions back from a man on the 19800 block at 1:38 a.m. Sunday.

Newland Street: A parking lot became so flooded that drivers could not exit it on the 21600 block at 9:57 a.m. Sunday.

Harbor Isle Lane: A Toyota Prius that may have been unlocked was found burglarized, with change and an iPod charger stolen, on the 20100 block at 11:34 a.m. Sunday.

Bushard Street at Atlanta Avenue: Tagging was discovered on both sides of Bushard Street, between Atlanta Avenue and Hamilton Avenue, and other nearby areas; it was reported at 12:16 p.m. Sunday.

Cape Coral Lane: A vehicle drove through a security gate and left the scene after being witnessed on the 20200 block at 1:29 a.m. Saturday.

Beach Boulevard at Garfield Avenue: Someone said a man attacked him while trying to steal his vehicle in front of a fast food restaurant at 2:12 a.m. Saturday.

Strathmoor Lane: Someone said their grass in a nearby park was torn up by tires, and beer bottles were seen, on the 21100 block at 8:58 a.m. Saturday.

Cardinal Avenue: Illegal fireworks disturbed the peace on the 8700 block at 12:59 a.m. Sunday.

Bluebell Avenue: Evidence of automobile tampering was reported on the 11200 block at 2:16 p.m. Sunday.
