Reality TV star arrested

Costa Mesa police arrested reality TV star Slade Smiley on an outstanding warrant Friday.

Smiley, 38, was arrested without incident on the 2400 block of Elden Avenue about 3 p.m. on a $10,000 warrant for civil contempt, Costa Mesa Lt. Clay Epperson said. The warrant was issued by Orange County Superior Court Judge Daniel Didier.

Details about the warrant were unavailable Friday night, and it was unclear why police knew Smiley would be where they arrested him.

But when police approached him, he identified himself and was arrested. He was eventually booked in the Orange County jail, Epperson said.

Smiley has been on the “Real Housewives of Orange County” and “Date My Ex: Jo and Slade.”
