CHINO HILLS — Senior Camden Nicholson shot three-under-par 71 to earn medalist honors and lead Corona del Mar High to the team title Monday at the season-opening event that featured 20 schools at Los Serranos Golf Course.

Freshman Mike Moorhead (74) finished second overall, while freshman John Davenport (76), junior Josh Starnes (77) and freshman Jonathan Keedy (80) also scored for CdM.

The Sea Kings’ team score of eight-under 378 was 10 strokes better than runner-up Mater Dei.

The Sea Kings also claimed the junior varsity team title.

Sophomore Tanner Trauthen shot four-over-par 75 to finish tied for third individually.

Sophomore Ryan Grable carded a 77 for Corona del Mar.
