ZOV’S NEIGHBORHOOD CAFÉS HOST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER FOR CHOC

Zov’s Neighborhood Cafes in Newport Coast and Irvine marked their second and first anniversaries, respectively, by hosting a truly memorable and fun-filled afternoon of family-friendly activities benefiting CHOC Children’s. The event, held at the Irvine location, included photo ops and autograph signing by two Laker Girls, along with a few educational components, as families learn the importance of eating “heart smart” from CHOC experts and Chefs from Melissa’s/World Variety Produce, who will sampling exotic, organic citrus with known health benefits. The highlight of the afternoon featured a live demonstration by Chef/Owner Zov Karamardian, who was assisted by students from Stonecreek Elementary.

“The community has supported both Zov’s Neighborhood Café locations from the first day we opened, so I was thrilled to be able to give back during this event for our many loyal customers and their families,” commented Owner Zov Karamardian. “My volunteer work includes leading after school cooking classes for local elementary school students, who served as my ‘Sous Chefs’ for the afternoon, and of course, the Laker Girls’ support added to the celebration of our first year in business.”

In addition to the “Heart Healthy” cooking demo and presentation on diabetes, the afternoon fundraiser featured specialties from the Zov’s Neighborhood Café menu, autograph signing with the Laker Girls (courtesy of Melissa’s/World Variety Produce), a special appearance by Choco Bear, a popcorn machine, balloon making, face painting and Choco Bear cookie decorating. The event also included a silent auction and an opportunity drawing with one-of-a kind prizes, including premiere tickets to see the Anaheim Angels and Mighty Ducks, a family dinner for six at Zov’s Neighborhood Café, private classes at the award-winning Zov’s Bakery in Tustin, tickets to Disneyland, spa packages, luxury gift baskets, and various other items.
