LAKE FOREST — Senior Kate Baldoni had 16 saves and teammate Victoria Kennedy scored three goals to pace the Sea Kings in the championship game of the CIF Southern Section Masters Tournament Saturday at El Toro High.

Kaleigh Gilchrist had two goals for Newport Harbor.

Costa Mesa 12, Warren 7

COSTA MESA — Senior first baseman Nick Pederson hit two home runs and drove in five runs to pace the host Mustangs in Costa Mesa Bracket pool play at the Newport Elks Tournament Saturday.

Pederson was two for three.

Sophomore outfielder Tyler Sheffner went two for four with three RBIs for the Mustangs (2-0).

The Mustangs play host to Nogales Monday at 3 p.m.

CORONA DEL MAR — Senior pitcher Matt Morris was three for four with four RBIs and a home run and earned the win to pace the host Sea Kings in Foothill Bracket pool play at the Newport Elks Tournament Saturday at CdM High.

Junior catcher Beau Attyah was three for five with a home run and four RBIs, junior Parker Werline was three for six with three RBIs, senior Michael Bloom was two for three with a triple and two RBIs, senior Danny Moskovits was two for two with three RBIs and five runs and junior Brian Hurst was three for three with two RBIs for CdM (1-1).

Its the highest scoring game in CdM Coach John Emme’s 12 seasons at the school.

The Sea Kings play host to La Quinta Tuesday at 3 p.m.

University Tournament

IRVINE — Sage Hill School tied for fifth in its division after losing a pair of matches Saturday at University High.

The Lightning fell to Costa Mesa, 25-19, 25-19, and also lost to Marina, 25-12.

Bayle Smith had six kills and seven digs against Costa Mesa and eight kills against Marina.

The Lightning visit Chadwich Tuesday.

SOFTBALL

Costa Mesa Tournament

COSTA MESA — Estancia High won two games Saturday, defeating Santa Ana Valley, 10-1, and topping Oxford Academy, 5-4, both games in five innings.

Nicole Marlborough and Courtney Ulrich homered for the Eagles (3-0) against Santa Ana Valley.

Amy Hartwell had a walk-off homer to lead off the fifth against Oxford Academy.

On Friday, the Eagles defeated University, 5-4.

The Eagles return to action Thursday at home against Bolsa Grande.

Estancia begins bracket play in the tournament Saturday.
