COSTA MESA — The host Lions posted season highs for runs and hits (16) in the nonconference game Thursday.
Junior shortstop Keegan Freeman went four four six with four runs batted in and scored five runs to pace the winners (6-11).
Freeman homered, as did teammates Jason Schaniel (two for four with four RBIs and four runs), senior Nicholas Akins (two for four with three RBIs) and senior pinch-hitter Tyler Gentry.
Senior Brett Siegmund allowed two hits, one earned run and struck out five in 6 2/3 innings to earn the pitching victory.
Trinity International, based in Dearborn, Ill., is 1-5.

WESTWOOD — Ashling Taylor, Gianna Rossi, Kat Plummer and Erin Kiene each scored for the No. 9-ranked Anteaters in the nonconference game at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center Thursday.
The No. 3-ranked Bruins jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first period. UCLA had three players with three goals each. Anne Belden, a Newport Harbor High product, had one goal.
UCI plays host to Cal State Bakersfield Friday at 7 p.m.
