FULLERTON — Seniors Michael Bloom and Danny Moskovits each belted three-run home runs for the Sea Kings in the Foothill Bracket game at the Newport Elks Tournament Thursday.

Bloom went three for three with three runs batted in.

Moskovits, who went two for five with three RBIs, tied the game at 7-7 in the fifth inning with his homer.

Steven Manning and Beau Attyah each went two for five for CdM.

The Sea Kings (2-2) play Saturday at 2 p.m. against a team to be determined

COSTA MESA — Senior Duke Yasuda won three events with a personal record in each in the Mustangs’ season opener at Estancia High Thursday.

Yasuda won the long jump (19 feet, 6 inches), 300-meter hurdles (45.6 seconds) and 100 hurdles (17.9).

Thomas Guzowski won the discus (118-1) and shot put (42-0) for the Mustangs, who were without Antwon Byrd (hamstring).

COSTA MESA — Tatiana Williams, Seu Ieremia and Hunter Strodel won two events each in the Mustangs season opener at Estancia High Thursday.

Williams won the triple jump (31-9) and long jump (15-8), Ieremia the discus (95-6) and shot put (34-0), Strodel the 1,600 in 6:10 and 3,200 in 13:39.

Costa Mesa will compete against Estancia Thursday at 3 p.m.

IRVINE — Freshman Ahmed Eltamami shot one-under-par 35 to earn medalist honors and pace the Lightning in the nonleague match Thursday at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Club.

Sophomore Jared Hoffman (42) and senior Mac Mace (44) also helped Sage improve to 2-2.

CHINO — Senior Ryan Knapp (two-under-par 34), earned medalist honors to pace the Eagles Thursday at El Prado Golf Course.

Jake Knapp (39), Ryan Burns (41), Jordan Young (41) and Storm Hagen (41) also scored for Estancia, 3-2.

NEWPORT BEACH — Freshman John Davenport shot a one-over-par 36, earning medalist honors and helping the Sea Kings improve to 3-0 Thursday at Newport Beach Country Club.

Camden Nicholson and Brian Mull each finished at 37, and Mike Moorhead, Josh Starnes and Tanner Trauthen each had 40s.

SAN CLEMENTE — Mychael Clark shot a two-over-par 37 for the Sailors in a tri-nonleague match at Talega Golf Club Thursday.

Erickson Klein and Zach Eddy each had 38s, followed Marcus Kiel (40) and Travis Russell (41).

Kevin Allen of San Clemente shot a 35 to earn the medalist honor.

Newport Harbor (5-2-1) plays Aliso Viejo at Aliso Viejo Country Club on Monday at 3:30 p.m.

CORONA DEL MAR - Shane Korber, Ryan Peyton and Parker Rhodes swept in singles for the Sea Kings in the nonleague match Thursday.

CdM improved to 2-2.

SOFTBALL

COSTA MESA — Junior Cheyanne Flores improved to 4-0 as a starter and she went three for four with a double in the Eagles’ nonleague game called in the sixth inning Thursday due to the mercy rule.

Kendra Fisher and Amy Hartwell each hit home runs for Estancia (4-0).

Fisher was two for three with four RBIs and Hartwell finished two for four and three RBIs.
