Playing with airsoft guns leads to arrest

Juveniles were playing with Airsoft guns in their friend’s yard Saturday morning when one of the plastic pellets hit a neighbor. The neighbor came in the house and allegedly hit the children in the 6500 block of Brentwood Drive; police were called at 10:24 a.m. He was arrested on suspicion of battery, resisting arrest and cruelty to animals.

Silverwood Drive: Residents reported possibly hearing shots in the 6400 block at 3 a.m. Sunday.

Chadwick Drive: A caller said their drunken neighbor was “singing horribly” in his backyard in the 5200 block at 3:37 a.m. Sunday.

Bolsa Chica Street: A safe was discovered stolen from a business in the 17000 block at 9:14 a.m. Sunday.

Landau Lane: A woman’s purse was discovered stolen after someone smashed the window of her SL550 Mercedes in the 16600 block at 2:22 p.m. Sunday.

Edinger Avenue: A suspect walked into a mobile phone store, grabbed a phone and left with it in the 7500 block at 5:41 p.m. Sunday.

Gothard Street: A woman was hit in the face by a line-drive softball in the 17000 block at 8:56 a.m. Saturday.

Beach Boulevard: A 20-pack of Coors beer was stolen from a market in the 17400 block at 12:37 a.m. Sunday.

Keelson Lane: Someone said their front window had been broken overnight, and suspected their sister’s ex-boyfriend, in the 17400 block at 9:08 a.m. Sunday.

Los Patos Avenue at Sandra Lee Lane: Two male juveniles were seen smoking out of what looked like a marijuana pipe at 7:06 p.m. Sunday.

Main Street at Sixth Street: Someone complained to police they were beat up by their girlfriend’s brother in the street at 1:26 a.m. Sunday.

Main Street: A limo driver requested police assistance in returning personal effects to clients who were sent away from his limo after being “out of control” and breaking glass in the 200 block at 1:49 a.m. Sunday.

Third Street: A woman called saying she was trapped in the middle of a fight in the 300 block at 3:06 a.m. Sunday.

15th Street: Men were seen trying door handles in the 500 block at 3:15 a.m. Sunday.

England Street: A man said his girlfriend let the air out of his tires and possibly put a bullet through his windshield after she found out he was cheating on her in the 2500 block at 4:20 a.m. Sunday.

Main Street: A mother said a middle-aged man said, “Hey little girl … come here” to her 11-year-old daughter while they were walking in the 200 block at 11:31 a.m. Sunday.

Pacific Coast Highway: A juvenile was apprehended for petty theft and released to his parents in the 300 block at 1:44 p.m. Sunday.

Main Street: A middle-school-aged boy attempted to steal a bracelet from a store in the 100 block and was released to his parents at 2:28 p.m. Sunday.

Palm Avenue at 10th Street: Someone told police men in a white minivan opened the van’s sliding door and threw a white powdery substance all over him at 10:27 p.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard at Pacific Coast Highway: Five soda machines were found vandalized at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Toronto Avenue: A resident said someone scrawled obscenities on their garage door with a black marker in the 200 block at 9:14 a.m. Saturday.

Banff Lane: Someone said their license plates were stolen from their vehicle overnight in the 21100 block at 6:43 a.m. Sunday.

Pioneer Drive: A door was broken into and several windows were broken at a youth facility in the 9100 block at 5:35 p.m. Sunday.

Brookhurst Street: A woman said a patron who was unhappy with her service at a restaurant stole money from the restaurant’s tip jar in the 21500 block at 8:09 p.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard: A bar employee said they received a bomb threat, possibly from someone who fell at the bar the previous day, in the 19400 block at 8:44 p.m. Sunday.

Adams Avenue: A caller from a Laundromat pay phone in the 10100 block said they needed to speak to “Santa Ana Regional FBI” to report a dead alien they found at 10:15 p.m. Sunday. The caller then hung up and wouldn’t answer the phone when police attempted to call them back.

Ascot Circle: People were seen fighting in the middle of the street in the 10200 block at 12:18 a.m. Saturday.

Constitution Drive: An unknown man arrived at the caller’s front door, saying he had been beaten up, in the 9900 block at 12:23 a.m. Saturday.

Terranova Circle: A resident said $200 in lawn décor was stolen from their front yard in the 8300 block at 9:58 a.m. Saturday.

Centerstone Drive: A man’s ex-fiancee took the keys to his SUV in the 8100 block and drove away at 10:21 a.m. Saturday.

Walnut Street: Police interceded in a domestic dispute in the 17400 block at 9:58 p.m. Saturday.

Willow Circle: Police were called to keep the peace following a vehicle repossession in the 16700 block at 9:13 p.m. Sunday.

Harbor Boulevard: A shoplifter was taken into custody at a grocery store in the 16100 block at 12:52 p.m. Sunday.

Brookhurst Street: A fight occurred in a diner in the 16200 block at 1:03 a.m. Sunday.

Newhope Street: A vehicle was reported stolen from a warehouse store parking lot in the 17900 block at 5:12 p.m. Saturday.

Mt. Cook Circle: Evidence of auto tampering was found on a vehicle in the 16500 block at 5:33 p.m. Saturday.

Kalama River Avenue: A shoplifter was taken into custody at an electronics store in the 10800 block at 12:07 p.m. Saturday.
