Lawler, Roley share league’s top hoops honor
Laguna Beach High seniors Ryan Lawler and Dylan Roley were named co-Most Valuable Players of the Orange Coast League for boys’ basketball recently in voting by league coaches.
Lawler was first-team all-league last year, while Roley was second team. They were joined on this year’s first team by Breakers junior Adam Selevan.
Lawler and Roley each averaged just over 15 points per game for Laguna Beach (21-6), which won the league with a perfect 8-0 record.
It was the first time since 1953 that the Breakers had a team go undefeated in league play.
Selevan averaged nine points per game and led the team with 48 three-pointers made.
Laguna Beach senior Cody Duplisea, who averaged 4.5 points per game, was a second-team all-league selection.
