Volleyball teams enter big local tournament today
Corona del Mar High and Newport Harbor will be vying to reach the Gold Division title match in the Orange County Boys’ Volleyball Championships that begin today.
Sixteen teams are competing in the Gold Division in the huge tournament, that also features Costa Mesa, Estancia and Sage Hill.
CdM opens with pool play against Dana Hills at Fountain Valley, while Newport Harbor takes on Foothill at Edison.
The top two teams in each pool will play in an eight-team bracket at Edison Saturday.
The Gold Division final is scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. at Edison.
