The city and HB Surf School will offer two surf camp sessions run by Bill Sharp, a former pro surfer who heads the city’s Learn to Surf program, during spring break. The surf camps will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday to Friday, from April 6 to 10 and April 13 to 17.

The camps are geared toward advanced beginning and intermediate surfers, and include paddling and riding ability, basic and advanced maneuvers, understanding tides and swell, and ocean safety.

Competitive analysis and techniques also will be covered. There are no age restrictions, but participants should be proficient at swimming in the ocean.
