Easter events at Congregational

Neighborhood Congregational Church will celebrate Easter with a number of special services and events. The open and inclusive church is at 340 St. Ann’s Drive. Call (949) 494-8061 for more information.

?Palm Sunday Processional and Dramatic Worship Service. A dramatic retelling of the last days of Jesus will follow the traditional Palm Sunday Processional at 10 a.m. April 5. Revs. B. J. Beu and Mary Scifres will share reflections and memories of the Jesus’ Passion and Death through the eyes of Peter and Mary Magdalene. All are welcome, followed by a brunch reception in Bridge Hall.

?Holy Thursday Drama & Worship: A reenactment of the Last Supper will take place at 7 p.m. April 9. The Holy Thursday Worship also includes Communion, open and available to all who wish to receive the sacrament.

?Good Friday Worship Service: A meditative Tenebrae service, recounting the last days of Jesus, will take place at 7 p.m. April 20. All are invited to this quiet, candlelight service for reflection and remembrance in preparation for Easter Sunday.

?Easter Sunrise Service, 6:15 a.m. April 12 at Alta Laguna Park (Top of the World). All are welcome as we celebrate with Native American flute, drumming, and Holy Communion.

?Easter Worship Service and Egg Hunt: Guests of all ages are invited to celebrate Easter with a festive worship service April 12, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for children.

Grief recovery at Presbyterian Church

A seven-week grief recovery class begins April 13 at Laguna Presbyterian Church for those who have lost a loved one through death.

Licensed therapist Jackie Pearson will facilitate the group from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays in the church parlor. Pearson and her team will use “The Grief Recovery Handbook,” a path of specific actions needed to complete the grieving process and accept the loss of a loved one through death.

A $20 materials fee is due at registration, in the church office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The community is welcome and invited.
