Chef Goetz, a Newport Beach resident, will extend his culinary expertise and “personal touch” found at The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar at The District in Tustin, which was recently named “Restaurant of the Year” by the Orange County Concierge Association, to lead an intimate group on a series of private events, including an on-shore excursion through the local farmers market in Antibes, France, where guests will spend the day exploring the region with Chef Goetz.

Known for its exotic worldwide itineraries, luxurious all-suite accommodations, gracious service and sumptuous gourmet cuisine, Silversea Cruises’ popular enrichment cruise will showcase the artistry of award-winning Chef Goetz on a seven-day voyage from Monte Carlo, Monaco to Barcelona, Spain, sailing August 15 – 22, 2009. “The Winery has gained a loyal following in the short time that we have been open and this culinary cruise is a unique opportunity for me to build on the relationships that I have with my guests in equally intimate settings outside of the restaurant,” said Goetz, who will visit his home country of France on the journey. “This culinary cruise will, no doubt, provide an enriching lifestyle experience, offering a great way to travel and learn.”

In an effort to ensure that the group enjoys the ports of call, the intimate, luxurious ship, and the personalized service and experience that Silversea Cruises offers, guests traveling with Chef Goetz will have the option of participating in as much or as little of the planned activities as they wish.

After spending the majority of his career leading other restaurateurs and culinary groups to success, internationally renowned Chef Yvon Goetz joined The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar as Executive Chef and Partner.

The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar opened its doors in August 2007 at The District in Tustin, the latest dining, retail and entertainment development to join the landscape of Orange County. Born and raised in Strasbourg, in the Alsace region of the country, Goetz began cooking at a very young age with his grandmother, while learning about fresh ingredients in his grandfather’s garden. As his talent blossomed, the path he was to take with his life became evident. When he was of age, he began professional training at a cooking school in Strasbourg, after which he spent several years in some of the most prestigious Michelin Starred kitchens in England, including Relais & Chateaux Chewton Glen Hotel, Hambleton Hall and London’s Dorchester Hotel, under Chef Anton Mosimann. Years later, he returned to Strasbourg to work under Chef Emile Jung at the famed Michelin three-star Le Crocodile.

In 1991, Goetz left his native land to join The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Group, which led him to stints in Boston and Aspen, before eventually finding a home at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. Goetz spent the next seven years establishing the hotel’s Dining Room into one of Southern California’s culinary gems.

As Executive Chef and Partner in The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar, Goetz develops and oversees a cutting-edge menu featuring contemporary California regional cuisine with a focus on specialties and ingredients found in California’s vast Wine Country. He is responsible for hiring, training and directing a culinary team that delivers consistent, quality fare that has set new standards for restaurants in Orange County and beyond.
