Newport Mesa Sea Kings 4th grade all stars undefeated advance to championship round

The Newport Mesa Sea Kings 4th Grade All Stars basketball team won the National Junior Basketball (NJB) Southern California Sectional tournament over the weekend of March 21 and 22.

In pool play, Newport Mesa, led by coach Troy Hall, defeated RSM Eagles 45-40, romped the El Toro United Stars 51-30 and dominated the Niguel Aliso Sharp Shooters 60-40.

All Star players include Ryan Meckler, Brett Super, Cameron Kormos, Preston Hartsell, Shan Dharod, Mikey Ruiz, Cole Kinder, Jacob Jones, Luke Vafiadis and Collin Pipkin. Troy Hall is the head coach assisted by Mark Hartsell and Harshad Dharod.

The Newport Mesa Sea Kings play for the NJB 4th Grade All Stars National Championship on April 17 - 19 at Cal. State Fullerton University.
