I cannot believe Rep. [John] Campbell’s criticism of President Obama, and the City Council’s excuses and lame reasons for not attending the town hall meeting.

Despite what you think, he is our president.

You should show him the respect he deserves in his attempts to fix the mess our country is now facing.

What audacity — criticizing someone who is finally trying to do something about the mess you guys and Bush got us into over the past eight years.

Why don’t you just keep quiet and let someone try to do something to fix it!

You had your chance, and look where we are now!

Do you have the answers? I don’t think so!

I certainly haven’t heard anything but negative input and criticism.

City manager is worthy of trust

Homer Bludau is my neighbor and I’ve gotten to know him as a neighbor and friend for the past several years.

When I saw the Pilot’s front page (“Dinner casts doubt on trust,” March 27) I could hardly believe that Homer’s name would be in an article that would have something to do with “casting doubt on trust.”

This is one of the most trustworthy men I know.

Homer is someone who is completely dedicated to our city and would never do anything outside of the rules.

He is an example of what an honest hardworking public official should be.

Council should have attended town hall

Whether you agree or disagree with the president’s policies, you represent the city of Costa Mesa (THAT’S DEBATABLE: “Why skip Obama meeting?” March 25).

Your reasons for not going are unacceptable to me. As a resident of Costa Mesa I would like to hear solutions and your ideas of “empowering families and small businesses” for the sake of the economy and reinvestment in our community.

Will Kobe’s wife have to buy ring?

This time it may be Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, who is in trouble for supposedly mistreating her housekeeper.

Does this mean Vanessa will have to buy Kobe a $2 million diamond ring to atone for her alleged misconduct?
