COSTA MESA — Jon Bunge had 12 kills for the Pirates in their 30-18, 30-22, 30-24 Pacific Coast Conference win Wednesday.

Mike Stewart had nine kills, while Andrew Pavlovich and Jake Melone added six kills each for OCC (10-7, 5-3 in conference), which plays at Golden West Friday at 7 p.m.

DOVE CANYON — UC Irvine senior Jane Chin shot one-over-par 73 in the third and final round to finish in second place, two shots behind the leader at Dove Canyon Country Club Wednesday.

Chin finished at one-over 214, carding a 73 in the first round and a 68 in the second.

UC Davis’ Chelsea Stelzmiller shot 71 in the final round to earn medalist honors. She had a three-day total of 212 (72-69-71), the only player to shoot under par for the tournament.

Long Beach State’s Kay Hoey (73-74-69) and Lee Lopez (74-70-72) tied for third with a score of 216.

The Long Beach State women’s golf team shot a tournament low 289 on the final round to capture the team title and had a 54-hole total of 891 (302-300-289). UC Davis finished second (903), San Francisco was third (904), Idaho was fourth (907) and host UCI rounded out the top five at 919 (318-296-302).

UC Irvine junior Patty Chawalitmetha fired a 74 on the final round and finished tied for 18th with a score of 231 (82-75-74).

Also for UCI, sophomore Hillary Packard was tied for 31st with a 54-total of 237 (80-78-79), while junior Henna Cho was tied for 41st with a score of 241 (83-76-82). Freshman Lalita Patipaksiri was tied for 48th at 244 (88-77-79).

Playing as individuals, freshman Joy Trotter placed 15th with a score of 230 (76-76-78), junior Mariko Makabe was 27th at 235 (82-77-76) and freshman Sarah Fox was tied for 41st at 241 (86-76-79).

UCI is idle until the Big West Championships April 20-21 in San Luis Obispo.
