The Huntington Beach Police Department has released photos of two suspects in a downtown stabbing March 15. The 21-year-old victim remains in critical condition, more than two weeks after the fight.

The images are from six seconds of surveillance footage taken of the two men at the bar of the Aloha Grill just before the stabbing, police said. Police accuse the men of confronting the victim later while they were sitting in front of the IHOP restaurant at Sixth and Main streets.

The victim walked away, but the suspects followed him and confronted him again, police said. The man fled but was chased down by one of the men and stabbed, police said.

Investigators found the young man “clinging to life” while lying in the southeast corner of the intersection, and took him to UCI Medical Center. Police described the stabbing as “brutal.”

The suspects may have confronted other people verbally prior to the stabbing.

Police described the stabber as a white male, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9, and at least 210 pounds, with a stocky build and a shaved head.

The video of the stabbing can be viewed at hbindependent.com.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department hotline at (714) 375-5066.
