NEWPORT BEACH — Zach Gagnon and Jake Turner scored four goals each for the Sailors Thursday.

Gagnon also had an assist. Spencer Baratto added two goals and two assists, while Tommy Hanrahan had four assists for Newport Harbor (5-3). Riley Robinson contributed two goals and an assist.

The Newport defense, led by Justin Faber, Lucas Gagnon and Alex Fox, held Valhalla to nine shots on goal, with goalie Jimmy Reed stopping six. Hanrahan and Cory Turner each had six ground balls.

SAN CLEMENTE — Steve Choi shot one-over-par 36 to finish as the medalist for the Lightning in the nonleague match at Talega Golf Club Thursday.

Ahmed Eltamami shot 41, while Jared Hoffman carded a 43 for Sage Hill (9-2), which will play against Tarbut V’Torah Wednesday.
