CMALL Major Dodgers defeat CMNLL Dodgers, 8-3
Wednesday, April 15 was an exciting evening for the Costa Mesa American Little League Major Dodgers as they defeated the Costa Mesa National Little League Major Dodgers 8-3. Evan Larsen pitched an outstanding game for five innings allowing three runs on four hits and posting seven strikeouts.
Down 3-0, the CMALL Dodger bats came alive in the third inning. One run was scored on a fielder’s choice hit by Cole Chambers bringing in Raymond Andrade who was hit by a pitch. In the fourth inning Daniel Morales and Keith Marshall lead off with singles and moved to second and third on a passed ball. Daniel stole home for the second run and Trevor Cohen came up with an RBI single to tie the game at 3-3. . The fifth inning started with a walk to Raymond Andrade, followed by a double into left field by William Leiby bringing the score to 4-3 in the CMALL Dodgers favor. Both Cole Chambers and Mikey Ischlinger were then walked loading the bases for Daniel Morales. Daniel delighted the CMALL players and fans when he delivered a home run over the right-center field fence!!! The grand slam increased the CMALL Dodgers lead to 8-3. Daniel Morales also closed out the game by pitching in the final inning.
