Newport council to hear ideas on Oceanfront Walk

A committee of local residents and business owners who have been evaluating ideas for improving Newport’s Oceanfront Walk will present their findings at a Newport Beach City Council study session at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The 3-mile path, which stretches from E Street to 36th Street on Balboa Peninsula is a popular, year-round destination for strolling, bicycling and roller-blading,

The committee is implementing a community outreach program to inform users of basic safety guidelines for using the walkway, such as slowing down on their bicycles.
