Five local players advance to semis at Ojai tourney

OJAI — Corona del Mar High senior Parker Rhodes and sophomore Shane Korber advanced to the semifinals of the CIF boys’ doubles division of the 109th annual Ojai Valley Junior Tennis Tournament Friday.

The Sea Kings duo scored a 1-6, 7-6, 6-4 win over Torrey Pines’ Michael Lin and Gannon Nicoll in the quarterfinals. They will play against Brentwood’s Walker Kehrer and Daniel McCall in the semifinals.

Costa Mesa resident Joseph Di Giulio, the No. 2 seed in the boys’ 16s singles division, is also in today’s semifinals.

Di Giulio will face Justin Agbayani, the No. 7 seed.

CdM’s No. 4-seeded duo of Kelli Feeley and Karen Ishii also advanced to the semifinals of the girls’ 18s doubles division. They will play against top-seeded Rachel Fox and Nicole Kosakowsi.
