NEWPORT BEACH — Erik Heimstaedt swept at love at No. 2 singles for the Sailors, who clinched at least a share of the Sunset League title Thursday.

Craig McKennon and Greg Brostek won, 6-2, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles for Newport Harbor (8-1 in league), which will try to win the league championship outright Monday at 3 p.m. at home against Fountain Valley.

CORONA DEL MAR — Shane Korber and Pierce Stemler teamed up for the first time this season and won two out of three doubles sets for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League regular-season finale Thursday.

CdM, which finishes the season winning 13 of its last 15 matches, lost twice to University, which is ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

Matt Fisher and Parker Rhodes continued their dominant play for the No. 7-ranked Sea Kings. Fisher and Rhodes won two out of three, improving their record to 34-2 on the year.

SANTA ANA — Kohl Jones had 16 kills, 13 assists and four blocks to help lead the Eagles to a 25-27, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 17-15 Orange Coast League win Thursday.

Tyler Sullivan added 21 assists, nine kills, seven blocks, while Davon Joyner had 12 blocks and six kills for Estancia (4-19, 2-4 in league). Shane Lyons contributed 15 assists and 11 kills for the Eagles, who trailed, 17-7, in Game 3.

CAPISTRANO VALLEY — Bayle Smith had 30 kills to lead the Lightning to a 25-23, 25-19, 25-12 Academy League win Thursday.

Harlan Webster had 14 digs and six kills and setter Michael Bear had 39 assists for Sage Hill (13-11, 5-2 in league).

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Melissa Hancock and Erica Pearson won two events each for the Sailors in the Sunset League meet Thursday.

Melissa Hancock won the long jump (16-feet, 1/2 inch) and the high jump (5-2), while Pearson won the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 28 seconds and the 1,600 in 5:19.1.

Lillie Berry won the 400 in 62.3 and was second in the 200 in 27.0. She also anchored the winning 4x400 relay team (4:15.4) that needed to win to secure the team victory.

Newport Harbor (3-1-1 in league) also swept the pole vault with Siara Fabbri, Allison Krugman and Tawnya Curfman, finishing first, second and third, respectively all clearing 9-6 with different misses.

Katey Thompson won the shot put (28-10), Kirby Burnham won the triple jump (33-4 3/4 ) and Desiree Alexander won the 3,200 in 11:33.2.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Joel Betonte, Justin Adams and Ben Ward won two events for the Sailors in the Sunset League meet Thursday.

He won the 400 meters in 53.7 and the long jump (21-0). He was also second in the triple jump (40-8 1/2 ).

Adams won the high jump (6-0) and the triple jump (42-6 1/2 ). He was also second in the long jump (20-2 1/2 ).

Ward won the 110 high hurdles in 16.1 and the 300 intermediate hurdles in 42.1 for Newport (4-1 in league).

NEWPORT BEACH — Travis Russell finished with an even-par 36 in the Sailors’ Sunset League match at Big Canyon Country Club Thursday.

Erickson Klein shot a 38, followed by Mychael Clark and Zach Eddy each at 39, and Marcus Kiel at 40.

Edison’s Jordan Singh earned medalist honors with a 35 for Newport Harbor (15-5-1, 6-3 in league).

San Juan Hills 220

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Camden Nicholson shot a one-over-par 37 to earn medalist honors at San Juan Hills Golf Course Thursday as the Sea Kings closed out their Pacific Coast League regular-season championship with a 10-0 record.

John Davenport finished with a 38, and Mike Moorhead and Brian Mull each had 39s, and Jonathan Keedy recorded a 40 for CdM (18-2).

COSTA MESA — Ryan Knapp shot even-par 35 and sank a hole-in-one on No. 8 for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League meet Thursday at Costa Mesa Country Club’s Mesa Linda course.

Jake Knapp and Storm Hagen both shot 36, while Ryan Burns (39) and Jordan Young (40) also scored for Estancia (14-5, 11-1 in league). Billy Im shot 37 for Costa Mesa.

Sage Hill 211, Whitney 239

IRVINE — James Chai shot two-over-par 38 to earn medalist honors for the Lightning in the Academy League match at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course Thursday.

Steve Choi shot 41 and Kam Fuji shot 43 for the Lightning (15-2, 10-0 in league).

LOS ALAMITOS — The Sailors got no-hit in a Sunset League game, which ended in five innings due to the mercy rule Thursday.

Newport Harbor (6-15, 0-6 in league) plays host to Marina Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.
