Girl Scouts donate 653 pairs of glasses to club

Junior Girl Scout Troop 2054 recently presented 653 pairs of used eyeglasses to be donated to the Huntington Beach Host Lions Club’s “Recycle for Sight” program. The presentation was made during the club’s meeting last month.

The donation earned the troop the Bronze Award, the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can earn. The award recognizes cooperation, demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to the community. Lions Club President Hank Lopez congratulated the troop.
