Costa Mesa American Little League Red Sox recently secured first place in American League mid season play.

They have played two games since the mid season. On April 25th the SOX played an away game versing the Costa Mesa National League Atheletics.

This game was played by the SOX without there Manager Chris Cox, (Coach, Mentor and “all around good guy”) and Coach Jared (“take/fake bunt sign’n”) Johnson. Who got the elustrius middle name from his lightning fast, sign’n hands as third base coach for the SOX.

The game was a pitching duo by A’s Pitcher and the SOX’ pitcher, Liam Shillington. A’s pitcher going five innings and Shillington pitching all six innings w/ 11 strikeouts, and throwing a NO HITTER !

The A’s pitcher was throwing some seemingly unhittable pitch where the bottom dropped out right at home plate, and had the SOX sweeping the plate with there bats for three + innings. He had numerable strikeouts in his own right.

Shillington was “THROWING B.B.s!!!” he was on fire for the whole 6 innings. Taking the SOX to a 3-1 win.

On offense Mike Jarboe pounded a triple and scored when Garret Spady got a R.B.I. single to right field. Alex Herrera Stole home on a pass ball. WHAT A GAME!!!

Last Sat. May 2nd, the SOX played the Costa Mesa American League Dodgers. The Dodgers Evan Larson pitched a great game.

The SOX played hard but came up short this time losing to the Dodgers 5-0.

Thats O.K. guys, just come out strong in your next battle this Thur. 5-7 at 5:00 p.m. Teawinkle School, against the National League Orioles.
