Dust off the scepter and shine up the royal crown. The Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa again plans to coronate Orange County Moms “Queen Mother for a Day” at the hotel’s annual Mother’s Day themed-brunch celebration, Sunday, May 10, from 10 am until 2 pm.

Again this year, all of the royal appointments will be in place and Mom will be treated in the utmost of sovereign style from the moment she exits her chariot. The reign will begin as she is greeted by imperial trumpet revelers and escorted down the red carpet by royal palace guards.

The centerpiece of this majestic event will be a custom-built royal throne fit for a queen that will be in place in the lobby of the hotel to serve as a regal stage for families to enjoy a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity with Mom wearing a royal robe and a bejeweled crown and holding a scepter. A horse-drawn open carriage will offer complimentary rides through the hotel grounds.

The British-themed event is the brainchild of the hotel’s General Manager Shaun Robinson, who hails from Liverpool. “We want Mum to have a very special day that will be remembered for a long time to come,” he said.

The comprehensive brunch menu includes a country bread display, pasta, many traditional breakfast items, gourmet salads, a meat carving station, an international buffet, and an array of dessert selections and beverages.

Call 714-438-4907 for reservations. Cost is $49.00 per person and $22.95 for children five to 12 years old. Senior citizens will receive a 10 percent discount.A drawing for a weekend stay in a luxury hotel in Phoenix, including airfare, is also planned.
