The Community Animal Network is learning to work around Fashion Island’s face-lift to continue to get the animals it is caring for adopted.

“We now have a greeter outside announcing that there are rescue animals inside Russo’s Pet Store for adoption and we are showing animals in the caregiver’s home,” said the network’s founder DiAnna Pfaff-Martin.

Charlie, who is one of those pets up for adoption, is a Siamese-looking kitten that has been bottle-fed by Chris and Joni Corum of Costa Mesa. This weekend at Fashion Island see Mariko, Rachael and a single orange-and-white kitten named Stagg from noon to 4 p.m.
