Laguna’s Pavlik to play in HB Open this weekend

Laguna Beach resident Whitney Pavlik and partner Stacy Rouwenhorst will be in action this weekend at the Huntington Beach Pier in the Assn. of Volleyball Professionals Huntington Beach Open.

Pavlik and Rouwenhorst are seeded 12th. Main draw competition at Huntington Beach begins today and continues through Sunday, when the women’s final is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the men’s final for 3:30 p.m.

The tournament is at the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier.

Pavlik, the 2008 AVP Rookie of the Year, and Rouwenhorst most recently finished tied for 17th over the weekend at the Assn. of Volleyball Professionals Houston Open.
