Four area baseball players make all-star rosters
Kurt Heyer of Edison High, Beau Amaral of Huntington Beach and Andrew Bynum of Ocean View have been named to the South roster for the Orange County All-Star baseball game.
Marina’s J.J. Baccari is on the North roster for the game, to be played at 6:30 p.m. July 9 at Anaheim’s Glover Stadium.
Heyer is 10-2 with a 0.80 ERA for the Chargers, who play at Dana Hills in the CIF Southern Section Division I quarterfinals Friday.
Amaral is hitting .427 for the Oilers, who host a Division II quarterfinal game against Yucaipa. Bynum finished 7-5 for Ocean View.
Baccari leads the Vikings, who play Capistrano Valley Friday, with eight home runs. He has a .338 batting average.
The game is organized by the Greater Kiwanis Club of Anaheim and is a charity fundraiser.
Edison’s Steve Lambright is an assistant coach for the South squad.
