Police have identified the man who they say walked into a Newport Beach bank last week without any disguise and told a teller to empty the drawer.

Authorities said David Paul Colussi, 51, of Los Alamitos, is the man in images caught by Wachovia Bank security cameras seen approaching a bank teller and handing them a note threatening them with a gun and ordering them to empty the drawer.

Police said Colussi has served time in prison for a previous bank robbery and is possibly facing a third strike. Police identified his vehicle as a gray 1995 Chrysler Cirrus sedan with California license plate number: 3K0Y168. He’s also known to use public transportation or a bicycle, officials said.
