On Thursday, June 4th, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Sage on the Coast will host a winemaker’s dinner with Jason Haas of Tablas Creek Winery. Tablas Creek began as a joint project between wine importer Robert Haas and the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel in Chateauneuf de Pape, France. Today the Paso Robles winery is not only known for its commitment to organic farming, but also for its award-winning premium white and red wines.

The dinner will feature five wines paired with five courses specially prepared by the Sage culinary team. The entire fare costs only $60. This is a bargain considering that recent Tablas Creek dinners have been priced at $90-$100. Reservations recommended: 949-715-7243.

The five courses include:

Vermentino 2006

with Assorted Appetizers

*****

Cotes de Tablas, Blanc 2007

with Coconut Crusted Scallop

*****

Mourvedre 2006

with Oxtail Ravioli

*****

Esprit de Beaucastel, Rouge 2006

with Roasted Rack of Lamb

******

Vin de Paille 2006

with Peach Tart Tatin and caramel ice cream
