St Joachim VS Anderson .. St Joachim wins in a nail biter

Girls Silver 3-4 Final ---

The second game of the day was a nail biter from the first kick to the last second. In no time Anderson had scored two goals. Quickly, Emily Armijo answered with a goal. Followed by a constant battle for the ball in the midfield. Again, Emily won the ball and took it down for St Joachim’s second goal. Scored tied in the half.

There was no time for rest, the St Joachim girls came out strong. Sianna Siemonsma handily dribbled the ball down the side for two shots on goal and then the drilled one into the net. On defense, Hailey Macias, Julia Gregory, Isabella Segovia, Isabella Patrick, and Alex Garcas-Saldana worked to keep the ball upfield. Elizabeth Lyons made great stops and big kicks to the offense. Offensive forwards were Emily Armijo and Sianna Siemonsma who did everything they could every chance they got. The real battle was in the midfield with Lexi, Van Oostendorp, Mollie Allred, Mollie Crook, Allie Holmberg, Claudia Bays, Rachel Del Valle and Marley Presiado who did what they could to keep the ball away from the very capable Anderson Elementary. Sianna continued to work the sides and again was able to drill one more into the net giving St Joachim a 4 - 2 lead. Anderson came back with a penalty kick- score 4-3. A long couple minutes of great play and then, fortunately for St Joachim, game over!
