Sanitary District appoints interim manager

Because the Costa Mesa Sanitary District has gradually grown in scope enough to need a separation between engineering and management, it has appointed Don McIntyre as interim manager to handle personnel operations.

Formerly Robin Hamers handled both management duties and engineering, but he has shifted to focus solely on the technical operations of the district including sewer, trash and recycling services. McIntyre will spend about twice as much time on managing duties as Hamers did.

The district expects to start looking for a permanent manager in the next three to six months.
