Kids mending after SUV crash
Five children are recovering from their injuries following an accident May 28 in which a parent crashed her red 2007 BMW SUV into her child’s day care.
Authorities said Andrea Moyes was preparing to drop off her child at the Childtime Learning Center at 9861 Yorktown Ave. about 7:34 a.m. when her vehicle did not stop as she entered a parking stall.
The vehicle collided with the south wall of a classroom at one end of the day care, striking five children and partially pinning at least one between it and the wall, authorities said. The 4-year-old boy pinned under the vehicle and a 3-year-old girl were both sent to UC Irvine Medical Center after sustaining serious injuries. Both are listed in stable condition, authorities said.
Those who witnessed the collision are asked to call Officer Bob Barr at (714) 536-5666.
