Commission:
The California State Land Commission said Poseidon Resources’ application for its planned seawater desalination facility in Huntington is complete.
The regulatory agency and the company plan to schedule a hearing late this summer to work on approval for the project.
The State Land and the California Coastal commissions are the only state regulatory agencies that still need to approve the facility, which would produce 50 million gallons of drinking water daily, before building can begin, Poseidon officials said.
Poseidon expects to break ground on the facility next year, with water deliveries to begin in 2012.
