A crowd of over 500 well wishers and distinguished guests were in attendance as South Baylo University paid tribute to its 31st graduating class during the school’s 2009 commencement ceremony at the Anaheim Convention Center last Saturday. Former chairman of the California Higher Education Committee Anthony J. Portantino, (D), who also represented California’s 44th assembly district from 1999 to 2006, was the afternoon’s keynote speaker.

Graduates from the class of ’09 will join a fraternity of 3000 SBU alumni, a group who, according to the California Acupuncture Licensing Board, account for over twenty-five percent of the licensed acupuncturists in the state.

SBU’s sister school, California University of Management and Sciences also honored its graduates the same day.
