Police Files - June 19, 2009

The following is from June 10 through Tuesday.

Area 1

Aster Street: A vehicle fire was reported in the 400 block at 4:33 p.m. and was reported put out at 4:45 p.m. Saturday.

Monaco Drive: A $25,000 wedding band was reported stolen in the 2000 block at 2:56 p.m. Tuesday.

North Coast Highway: A woman was accused of throwing a cup of coffee on someone at a coffee shop in the 100 block at 1:26 p.m. June 10.

Area 2

Canyon Acres: A Lake Forest woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a traffic stop at Laguna Canyon Road at 11:56 p.m. Sunday.

Area 3

Broadway: A La Palma man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after allegedly sideswiping a motorcyclist at South Coast Highway at 11:43 a.m. Sunday.

Forest Avenue: $650 worth of items, including a purse, iPod and $60 cash, were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a lot at Broadway at 4:28 p.m. June 10.

St. Ann’s Drive: A purse was reported stolen, a $350 loss, at South Coast Highway at 3:06 p.m. Monday.

Thalia Street: A $50 backpack with a $300 wetsuit, $120 cell phone, and $5 in cash was reported stolen after being left on the beach while the owner went skimboarding in the 100 block at 1:05 p.m. Sunday.

Area 4

Catalina Street: A bicyclist reportedly lost control and struck a vehicle, causing damage to the vehicle and bicycle but not to the bicyclist, in the 2100 block at 12:05 p.m. June 12.

Cress Street: A Newport Beach man was arrested on suspicion of DUI at Glenneyre Street at 12:35 a.m. Monday.

Ocean Front: A dead harbor seal was reported in the 1200 block of Brooks Street beach at 9:40 a.m. June 11.

Area 5

Coast Highway: A $1,200 laptop and $200 GPS system were reported stolen, and $500 in damages incurred, after both passenger windows were broken on a vehicle parked in a parking structure at a hospital in the 31000 block at 7:44 a.m. June 12.

Coast Highway: A Newport Beach man was arrested on suspicion of drug possession in the 31000 block at 2:05 p.m. Saturday.

Coast Highway: A cell phone, cash, backpack and shoes, totaling $700, were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 31000 block at 8:10 p.m. Saturday.

Mar Vista Avenue: A San Clemente man was arrested on suspicion of DUI in the 31000 block at 2:08 p.m. Sunday.

N. Vista de Catalina: A satellite radio receiver and $20 cash were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 0 block of N. Vista de Catalina at 8:34 a.m. June 10.

Vista de Catalina: A Yachtmaster Rolex watch was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 0 block of North Vista de Catalina at 7:41 a.m. June 10.
