Art Center hosts exhibit of 400 works

The Huntington Beach Art Center, 538 Main St., will launch its next show Friday with an artist reception from 6 to 9 p.m.

“Centered on the Center” is the gallery’s annual salon-style, non-juried exhibition of nearly 400 works by artists from around the nation.

Works on view may include paintings, sculpture, mixed-media, video and electronic media. Local, regional and national artists were invited to participate in the show, which was sponsored by the center’s foundation, the city and participating artists.

Following the reception, the gallery will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday; it is closed Monday and Tuesday. The show closes July 19.
