Newport Mesa Soccer Club makes it to the finals

Local team Newport Mesa Soccer Club Boys U-9 squad had another successful weekend on the UCI soccer fields this past June 27 and 28.

They followed their winning of the Irvine Memorial Classic Tournament in May on these same fields with another trip to the Finals game.

To advance to the Finals, they defeated the Slammers FC by a score of 4-2, and sandwiched a tough loss to the LA Rampage , with a solid 5-0 win over C Z Elite Pasadena.

Even though the score was tied 1-1 at the end of the half, it proved to be the Rampage’s weekend, as they finished with a Finals win of 3-1.

Newport Mesa’s next tournament will be the Xtreme Cup in Huntington Beach.
